Unintended consequence of advancement of technologies is that they have made cheating easier. Cell-phones and internet are being used by students for copying content and showing as their own. According to a poll more than half of teens admit using internet to cheat , and the other 35% say they use their cell phones for the same. Adding to that they don't even consider it as a wrong behavior, giving parents a reason for a hard talk with their kids. Most of the parents think while the other kids cheat their own don't. They need to be aware of the technologies used by their kids and addressing the issue with the kids so that consequences of cheating are fully understood.

Proper nutrition at the teen and young adult years is considered as key to lowering risk of health issues later in life. Youngsters today tend to cut down the proper intake of healthy food as they enter their 20s,research shows. According to a study majority of the 1,500 participants reduced their appropriate nutritional intake in high school. More than half of the students consumed less than daily recommended level of calcium, vitamins and minerals. At this time its too late to ween them off the junk food and put them onto vegetables. The new public library and technology center received fund boosting last week by the Royal Bank of Canada. Cash amount of $25,000 was presented in support of new library and technology center. Donation was made on behalf of RBC foundation. It will go towards library set for teenage community. The center now will be known as “RBC Teen Zone”. The library will house literature and resources for youth, as well as provide comfortable sitting areas, space to work on laptops and access to internet.

A graduate from Palm Desert High School named Hayden Rodarte recently received a scholarship from Annexstad Family Foundation. The scholarship will provide student's financial aid during the education period, giving him a debt-free education. He has planned to attend Standford University with plans for a career in medicine. The scholarship is given to students of outstanding character and academic achievement and particularly those who have benefited from a mentoring experience.
